This Privacy Policy explains how PodMonitor (“PodMonitor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the PodMonitor website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and authentication details needed to secure your account.
• Newsletter subscription. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide so we can send it.
• Billing information. If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
• Communications. If you contact us, we keep the content of your message and our reply.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data.With your consent, we collect information about your visit — such as pages viewed, referring websites, campaign parameters, approximate location, browser, and device — as described in “Visitor analytics” below.
• Essential cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.

Podcast and public data

PodMonitor publishes analytics and rankings built from publicly available data about podcasts and their channels — for example, public YouTube channel and video statistics and information about guests mentioned in public content. This data describes public figures and organizations and is not collected from your personal browsing. See our Methodology for details on what we track and how.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate you and secure your account.
• Process subscriptions and send billing-related messages.
• Send the newsletter and updates you have requested.
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve navigation and content (only with your analytics consent).
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Service providers

We share information with third parties that help us run the Service. Each processes data only as needed to provide their function:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting for account data.
• Stripe — payment processing for paid plans. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
• Microsoft Clarity — optional, consent-based visitor analytics (see below).
• Hosting and email infrastructure — to deliver the site and the messages you request.

We do not sell your personal information.

Visitor analytics

With your permission, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand visits, referring websites and campaigns, approximate visitor locations, devices, and interactions with our public pages. Click and scroll heatmaps and session replays help us improve navigation and find confusing parts of the site.

Clarity receives page URLs, browser and device information, and interaction data. It uses cookies and similar technologies to group activity into sessions. Form entries are masked in recordings, and we additionally mask the newsletter form. We do not send account names or email addresses as analytics identifiers. Visitor analytics is disabled for signed-in users. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We request analytics storage only and send a denied signal for advertising storage.

Clarity loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Choosing “No thanks” keeps it off. Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing permission stops recording and reloads the page; it does not delete previously collected data. Your choice is saved in this browser's local storage. Clearing that storage resets your preference. Essential sign-in functionality and any newsletter subscription you request work independently of this analytics choice.

Data retention

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the provider's standard retention periods.

Your choices and rights

• Analytics.Manage or withdraw analytics consent at any time using “Analytics preferences” in the footer.
• Newsletter. Unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.
• Account. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be highlighted on the site.
